World Diabetes Day 2018

World Diabetes Day 2018

On Wednesday 14th November we dressed up to raise awareness of World Diabetes Day.
Along with the world wide initiative 'Be a Type 1 hero', we dressed as a super heroes, in respect of those children who are heroes, as they live a normal life while dealing with diabetes.

Diabetes is a lifelong condition that causes a person's blood sugar level to become too high. We learnt there are two different types of diabetes; Type 1 diabetes - where the body's immune system attacks and destroys the cells that produce insulin and Type 2 diabetes - where the body doesn't produce enough insulin, or the body's cells don't react to insulin

We asked lots of questions about diabetes, some children made posters and computer presentations and lots of us were very interested to find out about this condition.
